Warner Bros Movie And TV Classics Can Now Be Streamed

Warner Bros just unveiled a new streaming television subscription service to give viewers access to its archive of productions dating back to the 1920s.

The ‘Warner Archive Instant’, features many classics including:

Laurel and Hardy’s "Bonnie Scotland".

The 1960s comedy, "Where the Boys Are".

And the 1959 horror classic "The Mummy".

Along with its television’s 1950s series "The Adventures of Superman".

How Much Does It Cost?

The trial service is free, after which the monthly cost is $10.00

And consumers can either watch on a computer or via the Roku streaming television box.

The Price Is $2 More Than Its Competitors But …

The monthly price tag is $2 more than both Netflix (NFLX) and Hulu Plus, but Warner Bros. is promoting the rarity of its catalog as its selling point, and Warner Archive Instant’s FAQ page refers multiple times to "other streaming services", that lack its classic titles.

How Many Titles Are There?

‘Archive Instant’ features only 122 titles at the time of writing, but Warner Bros. says new content will be add on a regular basis and ongoing basis.

Compatibility Problems?

The new service sadly lacks compatibility with most devices at launch.

‘Archive Instant’ users can stream via the website, but the service works with only one connected-TV device.

Only Roku users will be able to stream the high-definition versions of the handful of titles with that option.

The Web version of ‘Archive Instant’ won’t yet stream in HD.
